Principal Secretary (PS) for Wildlife, Ms. Silvia Museiya earlier today held a meeting with Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the Regional Conservancy Association to prioritise implementation of roads and water projects in wildlife Conservancies this financial Year 2023/24 following allocation of funds by National Treasury.
The discussions between the PS Ms Museiya and the CEOs also centred on strategies to foster human-wildlife co-existence as concerted efforts aimed at promoting conservation. Additionally, the engagement was aimed at seeking the opinion of the stakeholders on proposal to establish Human Wildlife Compensation (HWC) Insurance Scheme that will resolve the issue of delayed disbursement funds for compensation.
